There were smiles and celebrations all round at the end of season awards for a Hitchin junior football club.

The team at Active Soccer, who train and play at Hitchin Boys’ School, presented trophies to their U8, U9 and U10 teams last weekend, after the final training session of the school term.

Active Soccer academy director Ahmad Ansari said: “We have a great set of boys here, and we are growing all the time.

“All our children enjoyed playing and training with us, and have a lot of fun – but we also have some very talented lads, some of who have been asked to train with Premier League outfit Norwich City’s development teams – which is also testament to our great coaches.

“I’d also like to thank all the parents for their help and support throughout the year.
