GO on a hunt with your camera in Stevenage and you could be the shooting star of Britain in Bloom Local Roots 2008 photo competition.

It has just been launched and people have three months to get in their entries.

The winning shot could be used on:

* The cover of the Anglia and Britain in Bloom portfolio

* Anglia and Britain in Bloom display boards shown to the judges

* Stevenage Day display

* Opportunity for public display

Snappers are invited to capture shots of Stevenage's green heritage and history to show how existing landscape features have been incorporated into the new town. Photos might include:

* Old mature trees

* Ancient lanes and hedgerows

* Woodlands and ponds

* Archaeological features

* Local residents using or voluntarily managing these features

Email your photos in jpeg format to inbloom@stevenage.gov.uk before Friday, May 9. All entries should include what the photo is of, where and when it was taken and the name and contact details of the photographer.
