JEREMY Gilley, founder of the United Nations sponsored Peace One Day initiative, was in Letchworth GC on Friday.
He spoke to pupils and staff at St Christopher School about the ways in which every individual can make a difference to the world we live in.
His message was: "Individuals can make a difference; each one of you has an opportunity to make a difference."
Mr Gilley was impressed by the activities already under way at St Christopher, including its established school projects around the globe.
It is already planning a Peace One Day conference in November in addition to working with Mr Gilley on practical ideas for POD teaching packs for schools throughout the world.
