A YOUNG adventurer has travelled almost halfway round the world on a Peruvian pilgrimage.

James Noble of Hertford Road, Stevenage, has started an experience of a lifetime to South America.

As an active member of The Longmeadow Evangelical Church he has gone to teach music to children.

He said: "I am really excited about this opportunity."

He hopes to communicate well with the children, sharing the knowledge he has gained from taking music at both GCSE and A-level.

James plays drums in a local band, As You Like It, and from an early age could play piano.

His mum, Heather Noble, said: "James has a passion for music and is a talented musician."

James had his turquoise Mohican shaved off - something which had taken years to grow - in a bid to raise money for the trip.

He has taken an early gap year and will be away for 10 months.
