A volunteer-run centre for vulnerable adults has been chosen as the charity of the year for Sainsbury’s in Letchworth following a customer vote.
Members and workers from Jackie’s Drop-in Centre kick-started the fundraising partnership at the Third Avenue supermarket with bag packing, running an awareness stand and cooking.
Centre founder Jackie Nealon said: “We’re really looking forward to getting started and raising awareness of our cause as well as raising vital funds to continue our work in the community.”
The year’s worth of support will also see fundraising activities at Sainsbury’s Local in Eastcheap.
