GENEROUS customers at a Biggleswade store have donated over 100 unwanted Christmas gifts to a hospice.

The scheme to encourage shoppers to donate their unwanted presents was launched at ASDA in Church Street at the end of December by town councillor and mayor Wendy Smith.

But the response has been so great a second trolley parked just inside the front door of the store is almost full.

The gifts will be presented to representatives from the St John Hospice in Moggerhanger tomorrow (Friday).

"The response has been wonderful," said store events co-ordinator Zoe Homfray-Cooper.
