Stevenage boss pleased with display following win over MK Dons
Graham Westley says tonight’s win over MK Dons ‘felt like the good old days’ at the club.
Boro came from behind to beat MK Dons 2-1 in the Johnstone’s Paint trophy with goals from Francois Zoko and Filipe Morais sealing the win.
Afterwards Westley said: “It has been a long time coming hasn’t it? We’ve had a horrible run of results, the team hasn’t looked as though it has got a win in it and tonight we got arguably our more experienced players on the pitch, one or two back from injury, and I think the players showed a lot of quality but more importantly for me they showed a real appetite to win a football match.
“First and foremost you have got to have that work ethic, that togetherness and fighting spirit and it felt like the good old days didn’t it for the first time since I’ve been back I think.”
