A Stevenage school has been chosen to host a national speed stacking championships.
The Nobel School in Chells will host the WSSA UK Sport Stacking Championships 2015 in February.
The UK’s team manager and coach for the sport Roger Acraman said the event was originally intended to be held in London but the decision was swayed in the town’s favour after more than 70 per cent of UK entries at the Guinness World Record attempt for combined speed stacking came from Stevenage and surrounding villages.
He added: “This made a compelling case for Stevenage to be the host town and when I went to survey the Nobel School my jaw dropped.”
