A WOMAN whose body was found at a house in Watton-at-Stone alongside her partner could have been killed by him before he took his own life.

The bodies were found at a house in Motts Close on Thursday, January 20

Rosie Mayer, 38, and Mark Barrett, 48, were both found dead at a house in Motts Close in Watton-at-Stone, near Stevenage, on Thursday, January 20.

Police said today that Rosie had died as a result of head and neck injuries and Mark had died as a result of hanging.

A line of enquiry at this stage is that one person caused the death of the other then took their own life.

Detective Sergeant Neil Langford of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said: “This is a tragic incident and out thoughts are with Rosie and Mark’s families at this difficult time.

“Our investigations are still ongoing and we are currently liaising with the coroner. I would like to confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.”
