BEDFORDSHIRE Police have launched an investigation into alleged abuse at a former boys’ home.

St Francis Boys’ Home in Shefford was run by the Catholic Church until it closed in 1974.

A spokesman for the police said: “We have received a complaint in regard to St Francis Boys’ Home. An investigation is under way but we are in the very early stages.”
