AN independent candidate has been announced as a councillor for the Silsoe and Shillington ward.
Alison Graham secured the seat with 527 votes.
Green party candidate Gareth Ellis secured 56 votes while Martin Hawkins for the Conservative party received 236.
Liberal Democrats candidate, Janet Nunn got 66 votes, with Steven Wildman for UKIP receiving 73 votes.
The turnout was 27.95 per cent out of a total electorate of 3,449.
