AN illegal rave under the A1(M) was broken up by police after 12 hours of music and dancing yesterday (Sunday).

Over 100 people were disbanded by officers from an underpass under the motorway near Junction 9, accessible by Jacks Lane, Graveley.

A Herts police spokesman said they were first alerted to the rave at 1am and monitored the situation until 1pm when officers asked the ravers to turn off the music and leave. The request was not complied with and officers seized the sound system.

No arrests were made, but the details of a 26-year-old man from Harpenden and a 30-year-old man from Southampton were taken for possible legal action.
