TWO arsonists accidentally set themselves alight after setting fire to an Indian restaurant.
The men smashed a window in the Pride of India restaurant on High Street, Stevenage, before setting the building on fire.
No one was inside the restaurant at the time as it was being refurbished.
Four fire engines attended the incident, which took place at around 10.30pm last Thursday, and were on the scene for around two hours.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The only description they have of the arsonists is that they are both male.
Det Sgt Heath Monk from the area crime unit at Stevenage said: "I am treating this as an arson investigation and am keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area before the fire was started, or the two men running from the scene.
