THE COMET'S charity of the year has been presented with another two cheques to help towards its new extension and running costs.

The Garden House Hospice, in Letchworth GC, was given £2,000 from Croudace Homes and £1,250 from the Letchworth Howard Rotary Club.

Croudace received a fee for allowing Yorkshire pudding makers Aunt Bessie to film an advert in The Pheasantries, its estate in Great Ashby, and shared the cash between the hospice and the Herts Care Trust Wheels Project.

The hospice was also given a £1,250 donation by the rotary club which raised the money by organising a series of events including a quiz night.

Both donations will go towards the new hospice extension, which will provide greater facilities for patients attending the day hospice and for out-patients, and towards the £900,000 running costs the hospice requires each year to provide its services.
