During Volunteers’ Week, the We Care Bear from Letchworth-based Garden House Hospice Care has visited its charity shops in Royston and Hitchin.
Staff from the hospice went along to the stores to thank their volunteers, and to encourage others to get involved in volunteering as part of the week – which ends today.
The hospice’s director of volunteering, Laura Burt, said: “At the hospice we are delighted to be so well supported by more than 500 volunteers working hard across our distribution centre, shops, fundraising events and the hospice.
“We also appreciate all they do to help spread the good word and awareness of the work we do. To be put simply, we could not provide the exceptional care for those suffering life limiting illness without the work of volunteers, who tirelessly help us fundraise the £3 million pounds a year, which enables the work to continue.”
