Hitchin teenager robbed at knifepoint

A TEENAGER from Hitchin was robbed at knifepoint on New Years’ Eve in Welwyn Garden City, whilst walking with two friends through a car park.

A man pulled out a knife on the 17-year-old victim a knife at around 10.45pm on Friday December 31, in the car park behind Waitrose on Gresley Close.

After demanding the victim hand over his belongings, the offender made off with a mobile phone and cigarettes and ran off towards the town centre.

The offender has been described as a white man, around 6ft 1in tall, aged between 19 and 22, with short blonde hair and wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers.
