Hitchin’s fourth annual Food and Drink festival returns to the town this weekend, with live cooking demos from TV, radio and local chefs.

The free festival, organised by Hitchin BID, runs from 10am - 4pm tomorrow and Sunday with a stage and stalls set up in the Market Place.

This year will see CBBC’s Incredible Edibles host Stefan Gates and ITVs chef Dean Edwards demonstrating their culinary talents on the Creative Kitchen stage, together with Emma MacDonald, owner of The Bay Tree Food Company, and festival regular Nick Coffer from BBC3 Counties radio’s The Weekend Kitchen. Chefs from some of the areas restaurants will also be taking part.

More than 30 independent food and drink producers will be tempting the public with their wares, and customers will have the chance to browse and buy local produce.

Hitchin town centre manager Keith Hoskins said: “This event just gets better and better, with a feast of memorable menus from masters of the culinary arts. The strength of Hitchin’s food offer is amply demonstrated by the involvement of many of our fine local eateries.”
