A Hitchin secondary school has raised more than £2,000 through a number of activities to support a homeless charity.
Hitchin Boys’ School raised the money for Herts Young Homeless throughout the Autumn term by holding events such as a non-uniform day, cake sales, a basketball competition and a Mario Kart tournament.
They presented the cheque to the charity’s community and events fundraiser, Vicky Flynn, who said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone at HBS for this amazing amount of money raised.
“The money raised will help us sustain our vital, life-saving services and provide support to people who have nowhere else to turn, so every penny really does count.”
HBS head boy Adam Mountney: “Every year students at HBS vote for a local charity to support, and this year Herts Young Homeless won with a clear majority.
“We are delighted that the money we have raised will help to support vulnerable young people within Hertfordshire.”
