A HITCHIN bridge which closed for repair work nearly three months ago, causing traffic problems in the town, will reopen today (Friday).
Walsworth Bridge on the A505 Cambridge Road closed for strengthening and repair work at the end of February.
The bridge is scheduled to open this afternoon, six days before it was originally thought it would.
The road, which is used as the main route between the town and Letchworth GC, has been completely closed between The Millstream pub and the roundabout with St Michael’s Road. Pedestrian access to businesses was kept.
