Hitchin’s very own Jack Wilshere has spoken to the Comet ahead of tomorrow’s showpiece domestic cup final.
Former Whitehill Junior School pupil Jack took time out from his busy schedule preparing for Arsenal’s FA Cup Final against Aston Villa at Wembley tomorrow to comment on old Comet pictures of him with U9 teammates.
The pictures from our archive show the England midfielder in 2002 picking up a trophy while playing for Letchworth Garden City Eagles, as well as showing off his ball skills for his Whitehill Junior School team.
Gunners star Jack, who won an FA Cup winners’ medal last season as the North London side beat Hull City 3-2 in a dramatic final, exclusively told the Comet: “I had happy memories of playing for Whitehill Junior School in Hitchin, and for Letchworth Garden City Eagles – here’s hoping I can win another trophy at Wembley for Arsenal tomorrow!”
