A man who was hit by a train at Hitchin railway station yesterday evening was pronounced dead at the scene, police have now confirmed.
A British Transport Police spokesman said this morning that officers were called at 8.47pm, and attended alongside paramedics.
Sadly, a 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner.
Services on the Great Northern line were disrupted between Stevenage and Arlesey after the incident, with some lines blocked, but these reopened after about an hour.
