The motorcyclist who died after being airlifted to hospital following a crash outside Hitchin has been named.
Lee Coxhead, of Heathfield Road in Hitchin, died from multi-organ failure at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge on October 10, at the age of 39.
Mr Coxhead, who had been riding his black Yamaha motorbike when it was in collision with a Fiat Scudo minibus on the A505 opposite Willow Lane on September 17, was flown to Addenbrooke’s after the accident.
He remained in a critical condition there for more than three weeks prior to his death on October 10.
An inquest into his death has been opened this week, with a future date when a coroner will establish the cause of death yet to be confirmed.
