Hitchin man in court accused of robbing vulnerable Stevenage shoppers

A man from Hitchin has appeared in court this morning after being accused of stealing money from vulnerable shoppers in Stevenage.

Donovan Bromfield was arrested yesterday at his home in Queen Street, following a police appeal in the Comet in connection with a series of thefts from men which took place in August and this month.

The 51-year-old has now been charged with two counts of robbery and one of theft, and appeared at Hatfield Remand Court today, where he was remanded in custody.
