A 41-year-old Hitchin man has been charged with aggravated burglary after a violent incident in Letchworth at the weekend.
The burglary happened at a house in Glebe Road on Saturday, and saw an intruder allegedly use a knife to inflict injuries causing grievous bodily harm.
Justin Weeden, of Spurrs Close in Hitchin, has been charged with aggravated burglary and remanded in custody ahead of a crown crown appearance next month.
The 41-year-old also faces charges of theft and fraud, relating to alleged activities in Letchworth on Saturday, September 9.
He appeared before Deputy District Judge Anita Borwick at Hatfield Remand Court on Monday, and is next set to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Friday, October 20.
