A Hitchin man collapsed in Stevenage’s Tesco Extra store this morning, then was arrested on suspicion of having two knives with him.
Police were called to the town centre store at 8.25am after reports that a man had collapsed in the café area.
An ambulance was called, but on arrival police established that the man did not need medical attention and arrested him on suspicion of having a bladed article in a public place.
A force spokeswoman said that the man, aged in his 20s and last known to be living in Hitchin, remains in custody.
