FIREFIGHTERS from Hitchin proved they were hot at raising money at a quiz night.
By the end of the evening they had raised almost £650 which has been equally divided between The Deaf Children's Society and the Fire Services Benevolent Fund.
# This week fire crews made an appeal for old cars so they can practise their skills using the latest metal-cutting equipment.
Anyone who would like to donate an old vehicle should contact Hitchin fire station on 01462 666800.
