Fire crews were called to a house fire last night (Wednesday).
Crews were called at 10.16pm to a bungalow which was well alight on Alpine Close, Hitchin.
On arrival crews were forced to use six breathing apparatuses and three jets to tackle the blaze.
Extensive damage was caused by the fire, which has been reported as accidental.
Crews from Hitchin and Stevenage attended the fire, which was dealt with by 1.27am this morning (Thursday).
