Two suspected drug dealers from Hitchin were arrested last night after police in Letchworth found what they believe to be Class A drugs in a car.

Officers stopped a grey Volkswagen in Radburn Way at about 11.40pm and detained its two 19-year-old occupants while they searched the vehicle with the help of Police Dog Billy and his handler.

One man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.

The other was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a controlled drug, as well as suspicion of stealing a car, driving without insurance or a proper licence, and obstructing a police officer.

They remain in police custody.
