Quiz fans who spent the Christmas break agonising over the tortuous teasers created for Hitchin Priory Rotary Club’s annual fundraiser can now learn the popular project’s final answer – how much did it raise?

The £1 quiz sheet packed with cryptic clues about items of clothing has contributed a total of £2,750 to its chosen charity.

Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to use their sense of smell to sniff out cancer and other medical conditions.

Charity representative Claire Pesterfield – a diabetic who is warned by her dog Magic whenever her blood sugar level is low – were guests at a club meeting to receive the donation from president Tony Strong.

You can find out more about the charity’s work online at medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk.
