Three men who saved the lives of children on a minibus have been congratulated for their bravery.

Clayton Pearce, Dave Owen, and Umar Ussain risked their lives when a minibus caught fire on Park Way, Hitchin, last Monday morning.

East of England Ambulance Service Trust spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “It is without doubt these men saved the lives of three children who were trapped on the burning minibus. It was a pleasure to meet up with them and thank them on behalf of the ambulance crews who attended the scene.”
