A 16-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to damaging wing mirrors on 14 cars in the town where he lives.
The Hitchin boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty at the North and East Hertfordshire Youth Court last Thursday to causing the damage between September 18 and November 4, 2017, with one victim targeted twice in one week.
The offender has been referred to the Hertfordshire youth offender panel for a four-month contract.
The panel aims to help stop someone offending and put right some of the wrong done.
The boy’s parent or guardian has also been ordered to pay £1647.41 in compensation, at a rate of £20 per month through a deduction of benefits, which means it will take nearly seven years to repay in full.
