A Hitchin writer and blogger was named as a finalist in the so-called gardening Oscars.
Nic Wilson was saluted in the Garden Media Guild Awards, held at the Savoy Hotel in central London, for her gardening and nature blog Dogwooddays: Life and the Garden.
She said: “I was delighted to be a finalist in the Garden Media Guild Blog of the Year Award.
“I’ve been writing the blog for 18 months and in that time I’ve thoroughly enjoyed sharing my experiences in my garden, the allotment and our local community garden.
“Growing your own crops, learning about wildlife and working alongside others in a garden can have such beneficial effects on our lives.
“It’s lovely to have a forum to write about different aspects of gardening and hopefully my blog will inspire others to get involved too.”
