Hitchin’s Market Place was transformed into a winter wonderland yesterday evening as Boots filmed their Christmas advert.
The health and beauty retailer took over the historic square to capture footage for their seasonal ad, despite the rain.
The set included large Christmas trees adorned with lights that towered over the cobbles, while a choir, popcorn machine and giant nutcracker were also involved.
When asked about the advert, a spokeswoman from Boots said: “Unfortunately we cannot reveal any information about the Christmas advert at this moment in time.”
It’s not the first time the market square will appear on TV screens.
Late last year, Aldi’s winter-olympic themed advert featuring ice dancing legends Torvill and Dean was filmed there, while it also appears in a number of scenes throughout BBC One drama series Doctor Foster.
