Hitchin beauty spot stabbing: Man charged with GBH and remanded in custody

A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm after an alleged stabbing in Hitchin.

The assault took place at beauty spot, Oughtonhead Common, at around 4.50pm on Saturday, June 4.

The victim, a woman in her 20s from Luton has been walking through the woods with another woman when they were approached by a man – who is then alleged to have stabbed the victim.

Albert Loveridge, 49, of no fixed address, was charged with GBH on Wednesday, June 8, and appeared before Hatfield Remand Court the next day.

He was remanded in custody until Thursday, July 7, when he will be seen at Cambridge Crown Court.
