February 9: Mrs Bean welcomed members to the meeting, thirteen apologies had been received and there was one new member, Val Thorney. The next Arts and Crafts meeting is at Mrs Flatman's on March 1, the Reading Group next meets at 44 Grovelands Avenue on March 15, and Scrabble Day on Wednesday, February 22. The speaker was Derek Wheeler who gave a lively and enthusiastic talk on Victorian Fire Engines and how fires were fought in years gone by, and a vote of thanks was given by Mrs Gill. June Cox won the birthday flowers, and the next meeting will be the AGM and one more committee member is needed.
