Barbara Alison welcomed members and one guest to the meeting on January 11. A newsletter had been circulated prior to the meeting and also a voting slip for indicating preferences for the annual party. The business of the meeting was addressed, the Treasurer announced that £109 had been raised at a cake stall lost month together with £27 for bric-a-brac. Next meeting of the Arts and Crafts Group is on January 24 at Mrs Flatman's. The Reading Group meet on January 17 at 75 Grovelands Avenue. There will be a Scrabble Day at Mrs Armstrong's on March 15, and there is a Lunch Club meeting on January 30 at the Three Moorhens. The speaker was David Gunn from Gunns Bakers in Sandy. He gave an interesting talk about his business with a demonstration of bread plaiting and had brought rolls and plaited loaves to be distributed. Barbara Alison gave a vote of thanks. The scarf competition was won by Diane Canavan with runner up Valerie Burnage.
