Hitchin artist paints pub oven to look like a cricket ball

Willian’s Gemma Nye, has been working hard covering The Cricketers in Weston oven in red paint to replicate the look of a cricket ball - including using white paint for the stitching on the ball.

She said: “As the pub was called The Cricketers and their new oven’s shaped like a dome, I came up with the idea of painting it to look like a cricket ball. It’s a fun thing for families to see. The pub’s also offering a free pizza in exchange for old cricket bats for a bar display so I’d urge people to brush up on their bartering skills!”
