A Herts police officer from Stevenage has admitted having sex with a crime victim after taking a statement from her, but denied manipulating her into a regular relationship.
Simon Salway, 39, testified in his own defence at Luton Crown Court yesterday, admitting intercourse with one of the six women who have given prosecution evidence in his trial for misconduct.
He accepted making the woman pregnant in 2007, two weeks after taking her witness statement, but denied having sex at her home on several other occasions.
PC Salway denies six charges of misconduct in public office.
The trial continues.
