Firefighters are about to go on strike this morning (Friday) for the ninth time – as they continue to oppose proposed changes to their pension scheme.
Members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) will stop work between 6.30am and 8.30am, the ninth occasion since September.
The walkout, which follows another strike on New Year’s Eve, has been organised by the FBU as the union attempts to defeat a government plan to delay retirement from 55 to 60.
