THE campaign to raise almost £400,000 for a new scout headquarters in Biggleswade got off to a great start.
The Biggleswade Scout Group, which is made up of beaver scout colonies, cubs, scouts and explorer scouts, held a fun day to raise funds at Turnpike Farm in Potton Road.
Over 100 people turned up at the event to support the scouts with the weather staying dry but windy.
There was a chance to throw a wet sponge at a friend which was very popular and an Easter egg hunt.
"It was a bit windy but the event went very well," said organiser Chris Wells.
"It was very well attended and what we raised will go towards our appeal for our new headquarters in Biggleswade.
