Wellbeing mornings are being held in Hitchin, Letchworth and Royston to offer support, a cup of tea and a chat - as well as activities for parents to do with their children.

As part of North Herts Council's healthy hub, a free wellbeing and support service, there is help on offer for people who might be feeling lonely or isolated, are struggling with their mental health, or need advice on staying healthy.

The council has linked up with a range of services across the district to enable people to get the support they need.

Activities are as follows:

Letchworth - Mrs Howard Memorial Hall

February 22, 9.30am or 10.45am: Fun with food for under-fives.

March 8, 9.30am: Pottery painting for adults. 11.30am: Sleeping well for adults.

March 22, 10am: Flower arranging taster session for adults.

April 5, 9.30am or 10.45am: Creative craft session for under-fives.

Jeanette Thompson, the council's legal and community services director, said: "We know times have been tough for many residents through the pandemic, and some will continue to struggle with the rising costs of living.

"We urge those who feel they aren’t coping, who might just need a cuppa and a chat, or those who might need more practical help and support to improve their physical or mental health, to pop along and join in.

“Our Royston sessions tend to get booked up so it would be great to see the same for the new sessions in Letchworth.

"You don’t have to commit to more than one session but you do need to book your place beforehand. Most activities would cost money elsewhere, including your refreshments, but at these Wellbeing Mornings everything is free.”
