THE royal with the keenest interest in complementary medicine has learned a little of what goes on in North Herts.

The Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living was honoured by an invitation to a meeting with the Prince of Wales after being shortlisted for a national award for Best Integrated Complementary Medical Practice by the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health.

The centre's director Roberta Meldrum travelled to Bristol to receive the award which followed on being chosen as 2002 Complementary Health Centre of the Year.

The centre runs weekly classes and workshops in yoga, t'ai chi, Alexander technique and stress reduction alongside a complementary medical clinic which last year attracted more than 1,000 people a week to its Rosehill Hospital site.

For information about its programmes, ring the centre on 01462 678804.
