The Twinning Association Talk and least there should still be tickets to sell, Joy Hall is the woman to call on 812609. Jane Brown will explore the partnership between Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll in Gardens of a Golden Afternoon, which actually takes place on a spring evening, Friday, March 31, in the Village Hall. Tickets are £7 (£5 to Twinning Association members). There is, of course, a local connection. Lutyens married into the Lytton family and there is a Gertrude Jekyll-designed garden up at Knebworth House. Knebworthians can explore that for themselves free of charge this Sunday. Marking the opening week-end of the season, admission to the house, park and gardens is free to Knebworth residents on that day only, use the St Mary's entrance and bring proof of residence.

Do not forget Sunday is also Mothering Sunday: If you take your mum along to the Mothering Sunday Service at 10am in St Martin's, free flowers. Free cakes, foot-tapping music and craft activities for the children are all on offer.
