A woman had her purse stolen in Biggleswade by a man who thrust a bottle of water at her – and police have today released a CCTV image of someone they wish to speak to.
The theft happened between 1.30pm and 1.40pm on Friday, May 12, when the victim was distracted by a man who asked her repeatedly to open a bottle of water for him.
He then thrust the bottle towards her, causing her to step back, and ran off. The victim later realised her purse was missing.
Sgt Ellie Paton, who is investigating, said: “We are keen to speak to the man in the image as we believe he may be able to assist with our enquiries. If you recognise him, or you were in the area at the time of the incident, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information should call Sgt Paton at Beds police on 101, quoting crime reference JD/20328/2017.
