A white pearl bracelet of great sentimental value has been stolen in a house burglary in Hitchin – and police have today appealed for witnesses and information.

The burglary happened between 3pm and 6.20pm on Tuesday, January 16. Thieves smashed through patio windows to gain access to a home in Meadow Way, and inside ransacked the house.

Cash and jewellery were taken, including the distinctive white bracelet, upon which police said the owner placed great sentimental value.

Det Sgt Hannah Treadwell said: “We’re releasing pictures of the bracelet’s matching ring, which was not stolen, to demonstrate the style of the jewellery and appeal for members of the public to get in touch if they’ve seen the bracelet or have been offered it for sale.”

Anyone with information should call Herts police on 101, quoting crime reference G1/18/187, or report online at herts.police.uk/report.
