A PIZZA delivery man was robbed in Letchworth GC at the weekend.

The 19-year-old was on his way to deliver food to a home in Jarden at around 7.45pm on Saturday.

He got off his bike but before reaching his destination he was approached by a man in the street who threatened him. He handed over the food and the padded delivery bag and the offender made off.

The suspect is described as a white man aged in his late 20s. He was about 6ft tall, of a skinny build and had light brown spiky hair. He was wearing a grey long sleeved shirt, blue denim jeans and smart shoes.

DC Ben Dixon from the local crime unit at Hitchin police station is investigating and said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the incident to contact police.

“If you saw someone matching the description in the area, saw anyone eating a pizza in the area or saw anyone acting suspiciously please give us a call. We would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the bag or any pizza boxes discarded in the nearby area.”
