OUTWARD bound activities made geography fun for Year 5 pupils at Norton St Nicholas CofE (VA) Primary School near Letchworth GC.

So much fun, in fact, that their enthusiasm paid off and they were proclaimed Group of the Year by the staff at Hudnall Park Field Centre.

Children from all over Hertfordshire attend the centre to take part in river dipping, team building and shelter building.

The centre staff decide their favourite group for learning, behaviour and attitude, and the pupils at Norton St Nicholas came out on top.

Headteacher Gareth Linwood said: "This is a very prestigious award voted for by all the members of staff at the popular field centre and we are very proud to have won it."

The pupils, who were in Year 4 when they attended the centre, were delighted to receive their certificate.
