PLANS to open a nightclub with a closing time of 4am have been given the green light, despite opposition from residents leaving in nearby retirement homes.
Stevenage Borough Council's licensing committee has granted a premises licence for J's Bar and Lounge in The Plaza in Stevenage, despite pensioners living in Danestrete mounting a petition against the proposal.
The applicants, Jeremy Dickens and John Maher, propose to open the nightclub in the former Yates's building in March next year.
