NORTON Common in Letchworth GC has been recognised as one of the best green spaces in the country.
The common, maintained by North Herts District Council (NHDC), has been awarded a prestigious Green Flag.
To mark the event an official Green Flag was raised at a ceremony attended by Cllr Peter Burt, portfolio holder for waste and environment at NHDC, which maintains public spaces throughout the district.
“Anyone who lives in or visits North Herts knows that we are very fortunate to have an abundance of beautiful parks and open spaces in the district.
“Congratulations go out to our grounds and maintenance officers for their efforts, and to Letchworth’s residents and visitors who use Norton Common and help to make it the wonderful place it is today.”
