If making a will, or getting an existing document up to date, is on your ‘to do’ list for 2015, then take the chance to get your affairs in order and help a good cause at the same time.

The Letchworth-based Garden Hospice Hospice, which provides services across North Herts, is launching its first Make A Will Week this year with the help of community-minded law firms.

The initiative gives supporters a chance to have a will prepared by an expert at a fraction of the normal cost, and support the work of the Gillison Close hospice.

The promotion is scheduled for the week beginning Monday, March 9, and firms across the district have signed up to lend their backing.

All you have to do is to make an appointment with a participating solicitor.

Instead of paying the usual fee to them, you make a donation to the hospice – recommended at £100 for a basic single will and £150 for a pair of basic mirror wills – instead.

If your affairs need a more complex will, you’ll need to talk through the details with your chosen firm.

Hospice head of fundraising Karen Rabjohn said: “Nowadays with more and more people owning property and other assets it is vital we all have a will.

“Make A Will Week offers everyone the opportunity to have a top class will written at an affordable price, and raise much needed funds for Garden House.”
